Gunn Community
Resources and Volunteer Opportunities

A page for student generated programs and community projects

These organizations and programs are not affiliated with Gunn High School, but are placed here as a courtesy to our students who are doing great things and would like to promote them!
OpenBrackets
OpenBrackets, a local student-led nonprofit organization aiming to help kids in underserved communities learn how to code. We prepare and teach programming classes to these kids.  For more information, visit the website (linked above).  If interested in becoming a teacher for OpenBrackets classes, email at [email protected]
Math Gives
Math Gives was created to give underprivileged students free math tutoring and inspire a passion for math.  Tutors, mostly from high school, sign up to volunteer on our website and are matched with students.
The Prose Train
The Prose Train, a collaborative writing project, is looking for students to join their first project! The Prose Train amplifies students' creative voices and connects writers in a larger mission of collaborative storytelling. Contributors will each write anywhere from 2-7 lines of a short story, adding to what students before them have written. Join us to improve your writing, have fun, learn from others, and form new friendships! Sign up and find more information at theprosetrain.com soon—space is limited! We hope to see you on board.
