IMportant links for Active Clubs
Joining a club at Gunn is a fun and easy way to get involved in campus life as well as explore new and favorite interests! Check out the list of Gunn's chartered clubs - if you do not see a club that interests you, you might consider starting your own club using our Club Application Form!
IMPORTANT: Clubs may only be chartered two times a year, so be aware of application deadlines! If you miss the Fall deadline, you may charter your club in Spring. Only clubs that have been active a full year are eligible for Fast Track Renewal in the Spring.
Chartered Clubs must be student-run organizations whose purpose is to promote a particular idea or activity that directly benefits the school student body and/ or club members in some way. In order to comply with the State of California, all Gunn Clubs have certain mandatory requirements that they must follow so your club can have a healthy and successful life at Gunn.
Clubs Fall into three categories:
NOTE - If you are planning to form a club that is only for raising money for a charity or only does off-campus activities, you may not be able to charter your club. Talk to Mrs. Hall and read the Club Fundraising Rules for more information about PAUSD and District policy on club fundraising.

Clubs Fall into three categories:
- TIER 1 CLUB: Holds meetings on campus during school hours, and has NO PLANS to raise or spend money, or take field trips.
- TIER 2 CLUB: Holds meetings on campus during school hours, but may have a few (1-2 max) events/ activities at nights or on weekends. It is highly likely that this club will be raising money, collecting donations from its members, and making several purchases throughout the year.
- TIER 3 CLUB: Holds meetings on campus during school hours, but has or may have several (3 or more) events/ activities or competitions throughout the year, requiring collection of donations from members. When not in a distance learning year, some of these events may involve overnight stays or full-day trips requiring district field trip forms, transportation logistics and other details for travel. This club will be raising money, spending money, and dealing with financial issues regularly.

Chartering a Club for Fall or Spring Semester: All Clubs need to do the following to be considered for Charter status:
- Recruit at least 10 additional Charter members.
- Complete the ONLINE Club Charter Application (link at top of page), which includes the following:
- Club Budget Plan and Club Financial Policies and Procedures (Ed Code 48932) - Only required for Tier 2 and 3 clubs)
- Gunn HS Club Bylaws Acknowledgement
- Club Constitution
- Teacher Supervisor Contract (CA Code of Regulations, Title 5, Section 5531)
- The link to the contract form will be automatically emailed to your prospective teacher supervisor when you complete the Club Charter form. Once the teacher receives it, they have to fill out the form linked in the email by the club charter deadline (or 24 hours after the deadline if the application comes in on the final day), confirming they will be supervising your club. All you have to do is confirm with them beforehand that they have agreed to supervise your club so they are not surprised by the email.
- After completing the online application, sign up for and attend one of the offered times for the MANDATORY Club President Meeting at https://goo.gl/06lFXz Depending on school schedule, all Meetings will be held in the Student Activities Center Classroom.
- Be approved by the Student Executive Council for Active Charter status.
- Participate in the Fall or Spring Club Fair (early September or early February, respectively).
