Responsibilities of all members of Student Executive Council:
- Attend the Officer Training on May 21st, 2025 during PRIME and after school and mandatory SEC Retreat on August 13th, 2025 (to be confirmed once fall schedule is set). (If you cannot attend the August Retreat, you should not run for office.)
- Help with school-wide events (e.g. Homecoming, Dances, lunchtime activities, NIOS, Spring Fling, Rallies, etc.) by running games, decorating, cleaning up, and any other assigned tasks.
- Dress up for all dress-up days.
- Represent their class and/ or the Student Body as a whole
- Supports class council/ all-class events as needed.
- Regular attendance in class to discuss issues relating to school climate and policy.
- Support final decisions made by group consensus in SEC.
- Discuss and approve all club and school group events.
- Participate in and complete all class assignments (Impact Project, Legacy Portfolio, and others)
- Help make posters for publicity
- Participate in all SEC/ School/ District committee meetings as assigned
- Runs or is a member of SEC Event Teams.
- Work well with your peers and try to improve Gunn
- Be prepared for weekend and evening commitments as well as times when regular class periods will be missed to assist with SEC responsibilities.
- Be flexible and have a positive attitude.
- Have a minimum of a 2.0 cumulative G.P.A. (please come talk to Mrs. Hall if you have questions about this)
- Maintain a G.P.A. of 2.0 and pass all core classes while in office
- Set a good example for the student body – no suspensions, no discipline problems, no academic dishonesty, or excessive tardies/absences. Failure to adhere to this rule may result in your removal from your position and the Leadership class.
- Do not work for your own personal agenda but work to better the school and community.
- Be aware that your behavior on campus and off-campus, as well as on social media, whether or not directly related to your duties as a member of SEC will not involve the violation of the GHS Code of Conduct nor any law. Failure to adhere to this rule may result in your removal from your position and the Leadership class.

Student Body Secretary

Grade Level Officer Commissioners:
- Takes formal minutes at SEC meetings and posts minutes on the Gunn SEC Meeting Minutes Website
- Post Leadership Council meeting summaries on Schoology and Instagram after the minutes are approved by SEC.
- Notetaker during important all-class discussions and meetings with administration
- Creates Meet the SEC surveys and other surveys as needed for SEC projects
- Compiles and presents quantitative and qualitative feedback for review
- Works with SBVP to track club minutes and attendance and sends reminders if minutes are missing
- Sends and/or responds to any communications from other schools.
- Plans end-of-semester Club Open Forum with ASB Treasurer if needed
- Hosts Secretary and Treasurer Trainings for Club Officers, assists SBVP for Club Presidents Training at the beginning of the year
Student Body Treasurer
- Prepares annual Budget presentation for approval by SEC; presents reports during Leadership Council to SEC on account actuals and projections when necessary.
- Attends annual district ASB budget meeting
- Communicates regularly with ASB Budget Secretary regarding financial obligations
- Tracks Student Body expenditures
- Advises SEC and Club Officers on proper use of accounts and forms
- Confirms with ASB Secretary that club fundraisers have been approved in club’s minutes prior to review by SEC
- Presents event/ fundraiser requests to SEC for approval and contacts clubs about results
- Works with SEC committees to create budget plans for events/ final expense reports to Event Team Leaders
- Signs check requests and other accounting forms and checks requests’ budgets with calculating numbers
- Plans end-of-semester Club Open Forum with ASB Secretary if needed
- Plans SEC fundraisers
Grade Level Officer Commissioners:
- Participates in one of four committees to support all SEC activities and events
- Design/ Publicity, Video, Spirit and Hype, Outreach
- Support class officers in grade level activities and events
- Be a co-event lead for up to 3 events throughout the year
- Events include Homecoming, Spirit Weeks, Dances, Rallies and sports events, cultural events and celebrations, community events, talent shows, etc.
